What led you to seek financial advice, and what were your expectations based on past experiences?

The primary driver in seeking financial advice was to ensure that we had made adequate provision for retirement. Though we were both reasonably financially literate we felt it important to obtain clear, personalised advice and guidance particularly in areas such as pensions and tax.

We had sought advice previously from a larger firm but were generally unimpressed with the “factory nature” of the advice. Their focus seemed to be more about generating fee income than providing tailored professional advice.

How did you feel about your financial situation before contacting Frazer James?

At a general level we felt we had options however our pensions and savings were spread across a number of different defined contribution, defined benefit and savings pools. Having also recently established a business, our position appeared complicated in terms of how or whether we should consolidate the various pools.

Why did you decide to work with Frazer James instead of another adviser?

We were impressed with the professionalism, attention to detail and responsiveness of all of the team at Frazer James. From the outset there appeared to be a genuine desire to build a professional and enduring relationship with their clients. Most importantly, they are experts in their field.

How would you describe your overall experience working with Frazer James?

In general, we have been very satisfied with the service received, particularly the proactive way in which they have handled external changes (for example, changes in pension laws) that can or may impact our financial position.

What positive changes have you experienced as a result of working with Frazer James?

We’re now just at the stage of transitioning from full time work to retirement or partial retirement. We remain confident that the work we have done with Fraser James has placed us in a good position to move forward with our plans.
