What led you to seek financial advice, and what were your expectations based on past experiences?
An increasing awareness that whilst we knew that we had a reasonable level of wealth in aggregate, our financial circumstances were complicated and would benefit from clarity being brought to them. This required us to look at possible wealth managers to work with to help us gain that clarity whilst also hopefully simplifying our financial situation, ideally making our money work harder for us and perhaps improve the tax efficiency of our arrangements.

This was the second time we had looked in to such an arrangements with a partner such as FJ but had been put off previously by the “over salesy” approach of others. We knew we wanted an advisor to partner with whom we could develop some level of personal relationship as well as the obvious need for professional expertise and experience to draw upon.

How did you feel about your financial situation before contacting Frazer James?
Our principal concern was the overly complicated nature of our financial arrangements: significant cash investments, multiple pensions from numerous employers, a number of investment accounts and other material shareholdings combined to create a picture that was hard to view in aggregate. This meant that whilst we knew we were probably quite well positioned, we lacked the certainty and confidence we desired. These, combined with increasing thoughts of retirement and whether it was an affordable option given the lifestyle we wanted to maintain led us to FJ’s door.

Why did you decide to work with Frazer James instead of another adviser?
Ultimately it was a simple combination of a consistently positive experience in early stages and interactions. We did not feel overly sold to, we felt listened to and our needs and expectations understood. We felt it was just as important that James and his team felt comfortable about working with us as we did in working with him and his team.

This all followed a fair amount of due diligence which involved talking to other players in the industry. We met others that we knew could no doubt do a good job for us, but ultimately the balance was tipped in FJ’s favour by the relationship developed with James and his team, over a number of interactions and our confidence in them.

How would you describe your overall experience working with Frazer James?
Overall, it has been a very positive experience to date. We have got what we hoped for and probably more besides. We feel listed to, we have the clarity we sought about our financial situation and a clear plan that we are comfortable with. All of this has been achieved through a combination of detailed discussions and analysis and a lot of follow up and regular checking in. We feel valued by FJ and we appreciate and value the care and attention we have received. We feel secure in our plans and significantly more relaxed about our financial future than we were before FJ.

What positive changes have you experienced as a result of working with Frazer James?
In danger of repeating ourselves, but we are happier and more relaxed in our financial status. We have clarity and confidence in our plans. Whilst retaining a healthy interest in our financial plan we know that our money is working more effectively for us. We are confident that all things being equal we can look forward to many enjoyable years to come. We are certainly not suffering from the stress and uncertainty of pre-FJ.
